THE SITUATION.
All home improvement starts and finishes with colour. Therefore OBI - Germany's largest DIY chain store - offers to mix paint in any fashionable colour. Unfortunately this hasn't changed Germany's affection for white walls yet.
THE IDEA.
It's simple. To entice home owners and tenants into more colorful living we used the colours they're already wearing. To do this we hacked public billboards and embedded colour detectors into them so that when people walked by they saw themselves in pure colours.
THE RESULTS.
The passersby loved their mirror image and saved their individual colour scheme to their phones and to Pinterest. Many of them visited the OBI paint mix service afterwards. Interior colours became a trending topic on Pinterest during the installation.
